Pastor’s Retreat Scheduled

October 10, 2008toOctober 12, 2008

ac-logo.jpgThe Mexican conference of “Iglesia Evangelica de la Comunidad” has scheduled their 2nd annual pastor’s retreat with 99+1 at the San Felipe headquarters. The group includes 14 churches from Ensenada, Tijuana, Tecate and San Isidro. We look forward to helping to provide an environment of relaxation and nurturing for these servants of the Most High.

Tecate Misson School

The Tecate Mission School from Tecate, CA. completed their fourth annual mission tripimg_5231.jpg with their 3rd grade class. This year, again, was a blessing to usimg_5249.jpg and, I pray, to them. The Tecate Mission is located at the border on the US side and serves as a school for Mexican Children and children of local missionaries among many other forms a help to the Mexican Christian Community. Each year 3rd grade teacher, Jeri Label, organizes a outreach trip of her class and some of their mothers. They brought a program of ministry through music and choreography. This year they ministered at the San Felipe Mission Church, the Iglesia Bautista Betania, the Men’s rehabilitation Center (Nueva Canción) and the Women’s rehabilitation Center (FAMA-Fundación Ayuda de Mujerimg_5202.jpg Adicta). They sponsored a picnic for both centers and listened to testimonies by the directors and some of the people in rehabilitation. The children combined their free time with passing out evangelism tracts and talked with people about our Savior.

Their activities included a class on tides and how it affects the fishing industry locally. They toured a tortilla factory and participated in making donuts. A tour to the “Valle de los Gigantes” (cactus) permitted knowledge of the local plant and animal life.

Our thanks to the Tecate Mission for allowing us to share in the development of these awesome children that will have an impact on both countries.

Sonshine Hacienda Update

I know I have said it before…. GOD IS GOOD!!!

walls-on-all-3.jpg

img_5113.jpgThrough God`s Faithfulness and not a few man hours of labor, the Sonshine Hacienda Orphanage has been permitted to advance to the completion of the walls on all three buildings. Faith Community Fellowship had the honor of being the last team to work on the walls.

Although we do not have enough cash on hand to proceed to pouring the cement roofs for building “B” and “C”; we do have enough to start some of the preparations for them both. We believe that the cost of both roofs together will be about $24,000. It is my understanding that we are already one fourth of the way to that goal with donations that have not been processed and the cash on hand. We now will wait on the Lord’s timing for the next phase. We Praise the Lord for your faithfulness in prayer and financial support.

Faith Community Fellowship of Mt. Vernon, WA

An all work team from Faith Community Fellowship reported for duty in San Felipe to help “where ever img_5126.jpgneeded”…and what a blessing they were! The Lord sent down (again) the skills needed to advance several projects around the headquarters and at Sonshine Hacienda orphanage. He sent down an electrician, a carpenter, a (former) mason and current pastor of the church, another pastor (former missionary to Mexico) and several handymen that could do what ever task was at hand. In the group were two that spoke Spanish which is a big aid as well. So what do you do with that many high energy people that love to serve the Lord? You let them do what they do best.

The group laid the cement block at Sonshine Hacienda thatimg_5099.jpg one of the team member’s family had bought with a donation. They mixed and poured twenty 100 pound bags worth of cement to fill the support columns in between the portions of the block walls. They began the overwhelming task of re-wiring the first floor of the house on the new property. They put a roof on what will become the “donut outreach” program. (I’ll explain that one in a different post.) They completed several major items on the maintenance “T0 Do” list around the mission complex.

Being able to fellowship with the team and to see His work advanced through them made it beautiful week in the Lord

Iglesia Be-tel

May 30, 2008toMay 31, 2008

Iglesia Be-Tel of Mexicali will be traveling to San Felipe to conduct baptisms of member of their church. Please join us in prayer for their safe travel as well as for the continued spiritual development of our new-er Brothers and Sisters in the Lord.

Wall Construction Starts for Sonshine Hacienda’s 3rd Building

God’s faithfulness has allowed the starting of the walls for the last building of the img_4949.jpgorphanage. A local American couple were able to put us in contact with a representative of Bloc Mex (a major manufacturer of block in Mexicali). The company was willing to reduce the cost of block resulting in a 15 cents per block savings and free transportation to the orphanage site. The walls are currently at the 5 high level and are expected to be complete in about 3-4 weeks.

Once the walls are up we will start the preparations for the to cement inter-level floors that will allow us to expand to 2-stories if and when the needimg_4990.jpg presents its self. The estimate for the inter-level floors is $24,000 in order to pour both together.

Rejoice with Marketplace Mission and 99+1 at the faithfulness of God as we complete our part in advancing His will for the community of San Felipe through Sonshine Hacienda Orphanage.

Two New Hampshire churches, Calvary Bible of Meredith and Moultonboro United Methodist, combine for a mission trip.

img_4944.jpgOn Calvary Bible Church’s mission trip this year they brought some new (to us) Brothers in the Lord. The Moultonboro United Methodist Church came down for their first mission trip to Mexico. The two churches blended well into one team under the leadership of Pastor Roger (CBC) and Youth Pastor Shawn (MUM). The team had the honor of starting the walls on the 3rd building of the Sonshine Hacienda Orphanage.

The team accompanied 99+1 to Ejido Delicious about 20 miles south of San Felipe for aimg_4964.jpg 2-day outreach. The outreach included a children’s program and a film for the adults. 99 + 1 thanks Daniel and Carla together with the Unidos en Cristo church for helping to coordinate the outreach programs. The team was able to add to their experience base by attending a church service in English and one in Spanish. One of the team members was able to aid in some additional networking for the 99+1 computers as well as some long overdue maintenance on the hard drives. What a Blessing to be able to use the various gifts God has given people and then sends them down to us!
