Blessed Hope Visits Tecate

Blessed Hope Advent Christian Church did indeed bless their sister church, Iglesia Emaús, in Tecate, Mexico. The Blessed Hope Church of Waterville, ME put together a team of 5 leaders 9 students that worked hard all to week accomplish the goal of preparing the roof trusses for a church building and laying the foundation for a retaining wall that will eventually become one of the walls for the church. The group prepared all of the steel for the supporting towers and the footing for the 40 foot long trench. The roofing team prepared 15 trusses about 28 plus feet long to sit on the existing walls. The team was financially able to provide funding and materials for the church membership to complete the entire roof. I praise the Lord for sending the needed skill packages when He needs them. The team ran the mid-week service with a combination children program followed by adult service with your Pastor Mike delivering his first sermon in Mexico through a translator. Co-leader Isaac Sturtevant even had time to through in a drum lesson for the church’s drummer. With full eyes of my own, I watched the pastor’s wife, Maria, look at the roof line and the cement foundation through tear filled eyes as she saw their dream for their community coming closer to fulfillment. Another missionary blessing was to see three former “high school students” return again, now as team leaders. I thank God for granting me this special blessing.
