His Place Teen Center
99 Plus 1 enjoyed the company of a combination group of youth and adults that represented seven different churches from various parts of the state of Maine. Bert and Fran Ruggs headed up the mission team that included a Pastor from Odessa, ME a youth pastor from Waterville, ME and part of the His Place Teen Center ministry staff. Each sub-group brought a few folks from there respective churches to form an awesome group that not only loved serving the Lord but loved serving each other.
The team worked on the Sonshine Hacienda Orphanage doing several different preparation jobs. They prepared the window openings for eventual installation. They finished cutting in all of the electrical
chase ways. They helped with the first part of the re-pouring of the steps to the second level. We took advantage of their willingness to work by helping in the collection of a donation for the orphanage as well.
Around the 99 Plus 1 facilities they worked on the carport area helping to wrap up that project by taping and mudding the newly hung sheet rock on the ceiling. They also did some painting on the new addition to the bakery.
At Nueva Cancion they were able finish the last of the interior wiring for the second solar system. The second system should be on line soon since only the aluminum solar panel support brackets are left to purchase.
In the area of outreach they helped conduct a 4-day after school program at the 99 Plus 1 facilities. The attendance averaged 45 to 65 for the four days. The lessons were taught by Daniel & Carla and of course Tito (the puppet). Topics were themes from the Old Testament. The program was held on the newly acquired property (now void of buildings) so there was enough space to teach and play inside the fence.
